Ojio Organic Golden Berries are grown on the lush, sloping hillsides of the Northern Peruvian Highlands. Hand picked and gently dried by local family farmers, this tart and chewy superfruit, know locally as the “Inca Berry,” makes for a highly nutritious snack.

Golden berries are native to Peru’s high altitudes where the fruits grown on carefully managed family farms. When the plants have flowered the berry ripens for three to four months before being picked.
When the berries have fully ripened they are hand picked and set aside for washing. Since the calyx protects the goldenberry so well while it grows the fruit only needs minor cleaning after being harvested. The berries are simply rinsed with water, drained and set aside for drying. The cleaned and dried berries are dehydrated in batches at super low temperatures (under 113 degrees) to preserve their natural flavor and nutritional content.
