Himalayan pink salt contains minerals as nature intended, which work with your body instead of against it. For over 200 million years, Himalayan salt deposits have been sheltered by the mountains around them, protecting them from pollution and contamination.
Our Himalayan salt was formed over 250 million years ago when ocean salt settled in geological pockets. As the earth's tectonic plates shifted the pockets were sealed, protecting the ancient crystalized sea beds from future pollution, pesticides and industrial chemicals. Today the salt is just as nature intended; mineral rich, pristine and unprocessed.
The salt is mined using the Room and Pillar method which leaves 50% of the salt in the mine for structural support and the remaining 50% is harvested and removed. Each mine and every room within the mine is excavated by hand using traditional methods with little to no waste byproducts typical of manufacturing. After the salt has been mined it is washed and ground into fine crystals.
The Himalayan Mountains are made up of over a hundred of mountains that separate most of India from the Tibetan Plateau. The mountains reach over 23,600ft in elevation and are home to the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. The regions climate varies from tropical at the base of the mountains to endless ice and snow at its highest elevations.
